The carnival sideshow known as Donald Trump proves himself a loser day after day – no matter what polls show.
But his apparent crush on Russian President Vladimir Putin is simply mind-numbing. And it left “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough momentarily speechless Friday after the dippy Donald said he liked that Putin praised him the day before.
“Sure, when people call you ‘brilliant’ it’s always good. Especially when the person heads up Russia,” he said.
Then Scarborough countered, “Well, I mean it’s also a person who kills journalists, political opponents, and invades countries. Obviously that would be a concern, would it not?”
Not to Trump, obviously.
“He’s running his country, and at least he’s a leader,” Trump replied. “Unlike what we have in this country.”
Scarborough: “But again: He kills journalists that don’t agree with him.”
The Republican presidential front-runner: “There’s a lot of killing going on. I think our country does plenty of killing, also, Joe, so, you know. There’s a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, Joe. A lot of killing going on. A lot of stupidity. And that’s the way it is. But you didn’t ask me [that] question, you asked me a different question. So that’s fine.”
Who is this guy? He may be rich, but he’s certainly not brilliant. Nor is he presidential material.
Other Republican candidates agree.
Jeb Bush chalked it up to Trump’s total lack of foreign-policy knowledge. Lindsey Graham suggested Trump visit Ukraine. Chris Christie had the best line of all, saying he was “really glad not to win the Putin primary.”
