Brock endorses Robin Smith in 3rd District GOP primary race

Former U.S. Sen. Bill Brock today endorsed Republican Robin Smith in her 3rd Congressional District GOP primary bid.

In a news release, Mr. Brock, a former 3rd District congressman, U.S. Labor secretary and one-time Republican National Committee chairman, praised Mrs. Smith, a Hixson resident and former state Republican Party chairwoman, for her willingness to listen to voters and “given them a real voice in this nation’s future.”

“This commitment to true public service is more important than ever when we look at the way both the present administration and the Congress seem to ignore the hopes and dreams of American people as they seek to impose ever-higher taxes and ever more federal intrusions into our daily lives,” the Lookout Mountain, Tenn., native said.

He cited Mrs. Smith’s work “to build and strengthen our party and the conservative cause. The results are unquestionable. Her desire to selflessly serve the people of the Third District is admirable and deserves our support. It would mean a great deal to me to have her in Congress representing the district I had the honor to serve.”

Mrs. Smith called Mr. Brock’s endorsement an honor.
