Many amateur cooks make their own salsa. A workshop at Ooltewah Nursery & Landscape Co., 5829 Main St., will show how to grow the ingredients.
No gardening experience is required for the one-day course, which is available either of two days: 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, or 11 a.m.-noon Sunday, May 5.
There is no charge for the workshop, and discounts will be given on plants and materials purchased on-site. Participants may bring their own container (call for size requirements) or purchase one before the class starts.
“We’ll munch some salsa and chips while planting, and everyone gets a great salsa recipe too,” according to a news release.
Advance registration is not required, but organizers say RSVPs on the nursery’s Facebook page are appreciated to help them plan.
