The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga is in need of toiletry items to be distributed at its day shelter for the homeless.
Lt. Ken Griffey Jr. says trial-size bar soaps and shampoos are especially needed, as well as deodorant, toothpaste, razors and shaving cream.
Items may be dropped off at the Salvation Army headquarters, 800 McCallie Ave., or donations may be made online at www.csarmy.org, says Kimberly George, director of marketing and development. Business or church groups interested in collecting items may pick up a red barrel from the Salvation Army to place at their locations.
