Handmade treasures by at least eight local crafters are on display – with the prospect of more to be added – as Gallery 5 at the MACC celebrates Tennessee Craft Week with a monthlong exhibit.
On view are knitted dinosaurs by Evie Durant, hand-printed marbled fabric and gourd assemblages by Lolly Durant, watercolor paintings by Anne Davis, watercolor and acrylic paintings by Lee Fritch, Civil War soldier uniforms and pottery by Rick Swafford, beaded jewelry by Susan Parks, glass by Mary Beth McClure and wooden bowls by Bob McElhaney.
The exhibit is organized by Lolly Durant, former president and current treasurer of Tennessee Craft – Southeast, which encompasses Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie counties.
Tennessee Craft Week, which continues through Sunday, Oct. 16, is sponsored by Tennessee Craft, formerly the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA).
The Gallery 5 exhibit will remain on view at the Mountain Arts Community Center, 809 Kentucky Ave., Signal Mountain, through Friday, Oct. 28.
