Cleveland State making changes

Cleveland State Community College is making some changes in Monroe County.

The Cleveland State site in Vonore, Tenn., is moving to the Monroe County School Board facility in Madisonville, Tenn., while classes are going to be offered at Sequoyah High School.

“Due to the economy and reduced state funding, we began looking at alternative ways to maintain our presence in the Monroe County area,” said Dr. Carl Hite, CSCC president.

The new Madisonville office will provide general assistance and information, accept payments, offer course video/CD checkout, accept applications, financial aid paperwork and advisement.

Classes will be offered at Sequoyah High School in the evenings. Some of the classes available are Developmental Reading, Developmental Writing, American History, General Psychology, Public Speaking, and Composition I and II.
