House fire
Firefighters responded to a house fire at 9334 Smith Cemetery Road in Dallas Bay about an hour after electric companies activated power for the residence Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
A neighbor noticed flames rising through the roof about 5:30 p.m. The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded first, and Chief Markus Fritts requested a Mutual Aid response to Red Bank Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS.
Jerry Summers, the homeowner who owns several other area rental homes, was on the scene. Damage is listed at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
