Chattanooga ‘heart’ on display 10 years ago
Saturday marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s landfall on the Gulf Coast and the subsequent devastation of the city of New Orleans.
Like so many of us Orleanians who have since settled in the greater Chattanooga area, we are amazed by how many people we have encountered here who participated in the rebuilding of our city, homes and hearts.
Those nameless people we saw day after day, riding in buses and caravans to the most desolated areas to offer their help, are no longer strangers to us. They are part of the Chattanooga area that we call home. We are thankful and blessed every day.
Your kindness and thoughtfulness will live in our memories all the days of our lives. The heart of Chattanooga is forever strong.
