‘On the Edge of Form’

Drawing Lena the Hyena for a Lil’ Abner cartoon contest when he was 7 triggered Morris Mitchell’s desire to become an artist. Although his parents tried to discourage a career in the arts, he persisted, eventually serving as an art professor at Ringling College of Art and Design for 42 years.

For the past 60 years, he has continued to pursue his own art.

A solo exhibition of his latest drawings, “On the Edge of Form,” is on display at Michael’s Fine Art in Dalton, Ga. through March 7.
