Making East Ridge ‘the’ place to be
I’m glad to see East Ridge building the Bass Pro Shops and other businesses off I-75. I’ve been gone from East Ridge for several years and on some recent trips back home, I see tremendous revitalization potential. The new Wal-Mart also may be a step in the right direction.
While I was there, I couldn’t help but think what a great position East Ridge has on I-75. The East Ridge exit could be “the” place to stop. East Ridge could strive to have the nicest exit with the best gas stations, hotels and restaurants for travelers. I can imagine people saying, “Let’s wait until we get to East Ridge and stop because it has that great (fill in the blank).”
I hope the residents and leaders of the city both realize their unique and advantageous position and act to make East Ridge a strong suburb in the Chattanooga area. With its unique position in the area and Camp Jordan, East Ridge could be one of the strongest areas in Chattanooga.
