Military soldiers like to use it out in the field. Horse trainers spray it on their horses to repel flies. People spray it on their dogs and cats to repel fleas. Everyday citizens apply it before going camping, hiking, fishing or hunting to keep mosquitoes away.
With so many applications, it’s no wonder that Skin So Soft body oil is the top-seller at The House of Avon in downtown Ringgold.
“There’s 104 uses for Skin So Soft bath oil,” store owner Susan Parton said. “I bought cases of the Skin So Soft Bug Guard last year and sold out quickly. Windstone Golf Course bought $250 worth of it. A well-known pharmacy in town sends clients here to get Skin So Soft to repel insects.”
She said she also sells a lot of Avon makeup, perfume, cologne, roll-on deodorant and Anew Ultimate skin care. The store offers a variety of bubble bath, body spray, lotion, shower gel and candles, in addition to gift certificates, gift baskets and gift sets.
“I have a kids’ corner with roll-on body soap and gift sets,” said Parton. “I have a men’s corner with men’s cologne and deodorant.”
The House of Avon will deliver to the elderly for those who can’t drive to the store.
