To tour the Womens Center
Delivering mothers can call 706-858-2565 to schedule a private tour of the Women’s Center.
Starting today, the sound of babies’ first cries will once again fill the hallways of Hutcheson Medical Center.
“We are so excited,” said Farrell Hayes, Hutcheson’s president and chief executive officer. “This is so different than a year ago when we decided to suspend the services.”
Last December, Hutcheson announced that it was losing approximately $2 million a year on its labor and delivery services, and that those services would be disbanded at the beginning of this year.
The hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in November, after being unable to repay $20 million borrowed from Erlanger Health System. The sum is a fraction of the hospital’s $60 million debt.
