Cagle obviously is not for Georgia

I would like to understand why Georgia Republican Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle would want to penalize Delta for a tax break when Delta is one of the largest employers of our beautiful state.

In March 2018, a tax break was voted down because the airlines dropped NRA discounts. I was recently in the international airport in Atlanta and saw on all of the Delta trucks signs that said “Proud to call Atlanta home.”

Who, except Cagle, would want to possibly send Delta to another hub? I will not vote for a man who so easily flies by the seat of his pants.

Vote anyone but Cagle. He is not for all of Georgia.

Does Georgia really want tax revenue?

Per a TFP article, Georgia is renewing its 47-year attempt to have the Tennessee-Georgia state line moved north. Georgia wants to move it north about 3,000 feet to the 35th parallel, all the way from the Nickajack Dam, east, to North Carolina.

This would put the Georgia line up in the Nickajack Lake. Georgia says it needs this for access to the Tennessee River, so water can be piped to Atlanta for its public water supply.

But could it be Georgia wants parts of Marion, Hamilton, Bradley and Polk counties to expand its Georgia state income tax rolls? That is right. If you live close to the Georgia line in any of those counties, you could pay Georgia income tax. For a couple making $50,000, they pay $3,000 (6 percent).

This started in the early 1970s when Jimmy Carter was governor. He was trying to move the line because it was the right thing to do.

Now, Georgia has a new story. They say, “It’s the water.”

I suspect after the state line is moved and the new Georgians are paying state income tax, the water-to-Atlanta project would be forgotten.

Re-elect Boyd in District 8

Re-elect Tim Boyd District 8 commissioner.

Politics is a very serious business, especially when it comes to solving issues in the district we live in. We need someone we can trust to address important issues and who will listen with an open mind and not shut the door.

Tim Boyd is my choice to watch over District 8 in Hamilton County.

Firepower needed to stop the killings

We need immediate firepower to stop mass killing in the bud. A saturation of armed citizens is both the cheapest and only practical solution.

The average 911 call takes five minutes to answer, and the cops might not act when they get there, as was the case at the February Florida school killings.

Our society spawns mass killers. Lincoln held: “Without the Bible, we would not know right from wrong.” Killing is wrong because the God of the Bible said so. But the Supreme Court betrayed the God of our forefathers when in 1962 it expelled both God and even the Ten Commandments from our public schools.

To make matters worse, some people are addicted to games where they kill. This teaches their emotions that killing is entertainment.

Those who are unaccountable to God and ruled by their emotions may well turn into thrill killers. This may explain the motives for both the recent Las Vegas hotel and Florida school killings.
