The PGA Tour flips its calendar to a new season every October.

Luke List doesn’t need a lesson on that, having already played in five events with four made cuts and three top-20 finishes, including a fifth place at the CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges in Korea. The former Baylor School and Vanderbilt University standout has competed in Malaysia so far this season as well.

“Some of these events overseas have great purses and great fields,” List said, “and you can go over there with an opportunity to get your ranking up and get some FedEx points. The fall season used to be about playing some fun events and getting out of the house, but now it’s turned into a competitive way to springboard your whole year.

“I was able to do that last year but didn’t maintain the consistency. Hopefully I’ll do a better job of that.”

List already has pocketed $522,951 this season, which ranks 29th on the PGA Tour’s money list. The former Ringgold resident shot a 4-under-par 68 and a 5-under 67 to hold the lead at the midway mark in Korea, but he was knocked out of the lead by a 4-over 76 in the third round.
