Police name driver of Jeep that crashed into Fedex storefront in East Brainerd, seriously injuring two

Chattanooga police have named the driver who crashed through the window and into a FedEx store on Gunbarrel Road this afternoon and the people who were injured in the accident.

Police said Deborah T. Cantrell, 45, was driving the 2007 Jeep Sahara that crashed 20 feet into the building.

Cynthia Farnum, 43, was pulled from under the vehicle by bystanders. Gary Callahan, 63, was struck by the front bumper. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Shaun Simon, 37, also received minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, the gray Jeep was gone and workers with Allied Glass and Mirror were nailing up 2 by 4’s in the empty front window of the business at 1906 Gunbarrel. Shattered glass covered the ground and the store’s interior looked like the aftermath of an earthquake, with supplies scattered everywhere.
