Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department are out on a bone discovery, according to a news release.
It hasn’t been determined whether the bones are human or that of and animal, Sgt. Jerri Weary, spokeswomen for the Chattanooga Police Department, said in a news release. Investigators have called on forensic specialists from the University of Tennessee’s Forensic Anthropology Center to assist in the investigation, she said.
The department’s Missing Person’s Division received tips on the location of the bones in connection with an old case, the release stated. Details of that case will not be available until a determination can be made.
The bones were located in a shallow grave behind a residence at 553 Arlington Avenue using ground penetrating radar.
