NAMES YOU KNOW
Isaiah Wilson is a five-star offensive tackle from Brooklyn, N.Y., who has a chance to not only play right away but potentially start on a Bulldogs front that battled inconsistency last season and lost three starters. Richard LeCounte is a touted safety, ranking second nationally at his position in the 247Sports.com composite rankings, and is already enrolled to get a head start on Mel Tucker’s second defense in Athens. Quarterback Jake Fromm, another early enrollee, will be given the opportunity to unseat rising sophomore starter Jacob Eason, while tailback D’Andre Swift will be a candidate to assume Isaiah McKenzie’s return-game chores.
NAMES YOU WILL KNOW
Matt Landers was rated just the No. 97 receiver nationally and the No. 674 prospect overall, but being 6-foot-5 could be an advantage in a Georgia receiving corps that has lacked bigger targets in recent seasons. Inside linebacker Monty Rice of Madison, Ala., was pegged as the No. 394 player nationally, which puts him on the extreme lower end of this year’s signees, but he is an early enrollee who Tucker really likes. Also keep an eye on cornerback Ameer Speed, who did not announce his intentions until Wednesday and was being coveted by respected Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster.
