A woman is dead after a sport utility vehicle collided with a motorcycle Sunday evening in Bradley County, officials said.
About 8 p.m., two motorcycles were traveling east on Lauderdale Memorial Highway when a sport utility vehicle turning left onto Frontage Road slammed the second motorcycle after letting the first bike pass by, according to Bob Gault, spokesman for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
A woman on the second motorcycle died of injuries sustained in the crash, he said. No other injuries were reported.
The accident happened around Interstate 75 exit 33, which is near Charleston, Tenn., Mr. Gault said. The scene was cleared as of 9:30 Sunday evening.
Because the next of kin hasn’t been notified, the identity of the woman has not been released, according to Mr. Gault. He said the office’s traffic unit is continuing the investigation.
