Christmas in the Streets in downtown Chickamauga hosted more than 30 vendors with arts and crafts, food, holiday theme items and furniture.
“I heard lots of positive feedback about the event from vendors and merchants,” said Chickamauga Tourism Director Fanci Moore. “The Down Home Hillbilly Christmas Parade had 55 entries. More than 4,000 people lined the streets either watching the parade or participating in it.”
Winner of Best in Show was Walker State Prison’s “Country Bears” float pulled by a John Deere tractor. Both the Chickamauga Choice and Chickamauga Spirit awards went to First Baptist Church of Chickamauga for its old-fashioned nativity float. Winner of the Most Comedic Award was B & M Salvage for its outhouse with Santa Claus inside. Winner of the Most Nostalgic Award was East Ridge Electric.
