Cambridge Square officials recently announced a new, high-profile barbecue competition which will offer free samples to all attendees.
Set to take place April 15 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the brawl will showcase 11 pit masters who have all won awards in other competitions, said co-organizer Steve Ray. And with $2,000 set to be distributed to the winners, the competition should be lively.
“These people take a lot of pride in what they serve,” Ray said. “I can’t stress enough the quality of the food that will be there.”
Both a People’s Choice Award and a Judges’ Choice Award will be given out, in addition to a steak competition called King of the Cul-de-Sac with a cash prize of $300.
