LOOKOUTS 7, SMOKIES 2
Friday’s road recap: Chris Paul’s two-out single in the first inning brought home Brent Rooker – who was hit by a pitch and stole second – for a 1-0 Lookouts lead, and Chattanooga never trailed as it won for the second time in three games but just the third in eight to start the Southern League season’s second half. The Lookouts added two runs apiece in the second (on Tanner English’s sacrifice fly and a wild pitch), fourth (on Andy Wilkins’ two-out home run that also scored Rooker) and seventh (on Jaylin Davis’s double that scored Wilkins and Paul). Tennessee scored its runs in the fourth, when Trent Giambrone hit his 11th homer of the season with Ian Rice on base after drawing a one-out walk.
Next up: Game three of a six-game series in Kodak is tonight at 7.
Pitchers: Anthony Marzi (0-4, 7.51) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Keegan Thompson (0-1, 24.00) scheduled for the Smokies.
