Make cashiers’ time interesting
I always have said everyone should have to work in retail for just a little while. When I read Mark Kennedy’s article (March 11), I could tell he has never been a cashier. Imagine yourself stuck in the same spot for eight hours (or a double shift) asking everyone you waited on if they found everything they need. Ever notice you see a lot of turnover in that position? It’s boring! I always have gone out of my way to speak to a cashier just to watch their face light up. I realize I will never gain the secret to world peace, but I hope my actions have helped countless cashiers to make their time at the register a little more interesting.

Hope Limbaugh is taught a lesson
Rush Limbaugh is a vile and repugnant person, in my opinion. The only thing nearly as insulting as his comments about Ms. Fluke is his less than half-hearted apology to her. I hope that between her pending lawsuit and his sponsors fleeing him, he will be taught a financial lesson that your rights end when they infringe on mine. I find it confusing that these Republicans explain away Limbaugh’s ilk while condemning Rev. Wright.
As Santorum recently said, it makes me want to throw up when these Republicans talk about their moral values which are about as rigid as a slinky. Their Catholic church is mired in a child sex abuse scandal, yet neither Santorum nor Gingrich has mentioned it. If they won’t show leadership on something this heinous, I suspect they’re both cowards and should sit down and hush. Yet they both feel qualified to lecture women on reproductive rights. I’m prepared to work hard for the 2012 election, as we did in 2008, but these boys seem to insist they give it to us.

Pray for all to live in peace
With wars, the high crime rate and violence everywhere, besides earthquakes and floods, springtime is fast approaching, which means more killer tornadoes. To continue with more gruesome things, we also have fears of fatal diseases. It gives you the idea we should hope for a little “sweet” with the bitter, a complete reversal from a little bitter with the sweet.
I’m sure everyone gets tired of nothing but a continuing bad news agenda. Is there any hope for the human race? I’m sure the world is wishing for peace and tranquility instead of being bewitched, bothered and bewildered. Most of us are looking for better things to take place in our troubled world.
All 7 billion of us should be able to get along because there is no place to go. If there is life on other planets, the space program is or less canceled due to money the government doesn’t have. God will help us to live together in peace. Let’s all pray for this to happen.
