– What: During the month of April, more than 500 Comcast employees and family members, friends and community partners volunteered for service projects across the city as part of the 15th annual Comcast Cares Day. Comcast Cares is Comcast NBCUniversal’s company-wide commitment to service and the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort.

– Benefits: Comcast volunteers at the Tennessee Aquarium guided about 200 inner-city youth from community centers and churches through the aquarium and used its app to provide an interactive learning environment. Comcast employees at Chattanooga Room in the Inn rebuilt steps, cleaned beds, assembled care packages for residents, mulched playgrounds and performed other beautification projects at the shelter for homeless women and their children. Employees also scheduled a clean-up day at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen and a company blood drive to benefit Blood Assurance of Chattanooga.
