Sip some sparkling wine at Georgia Winery and let the staff guide your party wine selections during an open house coming up Saturday, Dec. 26, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The party will feature $3 wine by the glass on brands normally $5 to $7 per glass, accompanied by cheeses and other nibbles, according to Jesse Taymore, general manager. This month’s featured wine is Holiday Cheer, a blend of muscadine and cranberry.
If you’re looking for a bubbly for New Year’s toasting, Taymore says the winery has two sparkling wines: Pretty In Pink and Celebrate. Both are $20.95 a bottle.
Taymore says the winery will offer dry wine and sweet wine tastings on Saturday.
“We have new dry wines we’ve come out with recently. We’ve focused so much on our sweet wines, but now we have a new Cabernet Savignon and a Chardonnay that we’ve gotten nothing but good reviews on,” he says.
Taymore says visitors don’t need a reservation to enjoy the fun Saturday. Just drop by for the tastings or a tour of the winery for those who are interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes. Tours will be offered at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. and are $15 per person.
