The 14th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats were pushed by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team tonight at McKenzie Arena, but pulled away late to avoid the upset.
Kentucky star forward Victoria Dunlap finished with 26 points and nine rebounds and led the Wildcats to a 79-64 win.
The Lady Mocs led twice in the second half, the last a 45-43 advantage with 15:35 to play, but Kentucky’s pressure wore UTC down in the final 10 minutes.
Whitney Hood scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Lady Mocs (3-5). Guard Carly Morrow, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., has four assists for the Wildcats (7-1).
