SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – President Barack Obama is promising to “squeeze every last little bit of change” out of his final two years in office.

Obama made the pledge at a Democratic Party fundraiser. It’s his first fundraiser of the 2016 election cycle as he begins the laborious process of raising the hundreds of millions of dollars the party will need to help his potential successor.

Officials say about 60 people attended Friday’s event at the San Francisco home of tech investor Sandy Robertson.

Contributions started at $10,000.

Obama noted his dwindling time in office but said “two years is a long time.” He says he intends to “run through the tape” and work hard to improve the lives of as many everyday Americans and middle-class families as he can.
