With Volkswagen making rapid progress in building its new billion-dollar factory in Chattanooga, every bit of VW news is exciting to our people.
Chattanooga had a visit this week from Volkswagen Chairman Martin Winterkorn and other key executives of the company. They viewed the progress being made in building the new manufacturing plant at our Enterprise South industrial park.
Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, County Mayor Claude Ramsey, Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and, figuratively, all Chattanoogans are welcoming VW officials and their company, with a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm.
Along with the prominent executives, there was a “sample” new VW sedan that attracted lots of attention.
Chattanoogans are looking forward to the early prospect of 2,000 local employees rolling many thousands of new VWs off local production lines and sending them to widespread, eager markets.
VW is a fine enterprise that has our whole community cheering for its great success.
