Good morning, Chattanooga!
You won’t find what knowledge American Idol alum Ruben Studdard has to offer in a book.
But students at UTC just might find it this semester during his guest lectures.
“A lot of music majors and students in the arts want to be part of the music industry, but they really don’t know what that looks like in real life,” Studdard, who won the second season of the popular singing show, said.
The singer will be teaching three to five sessions during the spring semester and will work with the UTC Singing Mocs, a show troupe that specializes in vocal jazz and a cappella music.
Now for some recent stories:
RAGE ON: If you’re looking for a safe way to let off some steam and break some things, the Tennessee Valley has its own version of “rage rooms” that are popping up across the country.
LOW UNEMPLOYMENT: US unemployment has sunk to 3.9% as many more people find jobs.
DONATE TO VOTE: Tennessee State Parks is holding a fundraiser in January that allows people to vote for their favorite park with each dollar they donate.
