Unum Group and one of its main subsidiaries, Colonial Life Insurance, have started websites on “WorkWell” and “WorkLife” to help consumers know more about workplace issues, career development, benefits packages and healthy living tips.
“We spend a third of our time working, so it’s important to know how best to juggle our world at work with our commitments at home,” said Jim Sabourin, senior vice president of corporate communications at Unum. “WorkWell and WorkLife provide content that supports the search for career success, work-life balance, financial stability and overall health and well-being.”
Unum, the world’s biggest disability insurer, hopes to use the web sites to inform more consumers about the types and value of disability insurance. According to the Life Insurance and Market Research Association, the average U.S. consumer can only answer three out of 10 questions correctly in a survey on disability.
