A construction worker was killed when he fell from the third floor of a construction site of the new Hayden Place Apartments.
The man was standing on a bucket plastering the ceiling when the bucket gave way and caused him to fall head-first 30 feet to the concrete, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department. The worker was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police are on the scene of the construction site at 1174 Pineville Road.
Officials have not released the man’s name but said he was Hispanic. Detectives are working to identify him and notify his next of kin, the release stated.
No foul play is suspected at this time however, the release stated.
