The conservation easement that would forever forbid development on Signal Mountain park lands is nearing a vote, but first town officials want public input.
The Conservation Easement Working Group, which has spent the past several months crafting and tweaking the easement document in partnership with the Land Trust for Tennessee, is hosting two days of citizen input at Town Hall Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13 from 4-8 p.m.
“We’ll take whatever input we get and come back together as a group,” said Councilwoman Annette Allen, liaison to the working group.
After the working group implements citizen input within the easement, it will present the finished product to the Signal Mountain Town Council. The council will then vote on whether or not to sign the document.
Both a summary of the document as well as the full document will be available at the input meetings for citizens to peruse, said Allen. Attendees will have the opportunity to write out their comments or general input for the working group to consider.
