This year, the Chattanooga Public Library will host its annual Summer Learning Programs entirely online.

Instead of visiting the library physically, participants can sign up for Make. Play. Read. Learn. (MPRL) at mplr.chattlibrary.org, according to a news release. The interactive website allows users to earn badges and points by logging reading hours and by completing various challenges and activities.

The program starts this week, May 18-22, and will run until July 31.This is also the first time programming will be offered for adults, as well as kids.

“While things may be opening back up, we know it’s going to be a while before large groups can gather again,” said Lee Hope, head of children’s services for the library, in a statement. “That’s why we’re thrilled to still connect online with our patrons, even if we can’t in person.”

Like previous years, MPRL 2020 offers “Summer Picks” reading lists for those ages 0-18, curated by both the library and Hamilton County Schools. This year there will also be summer picks for adults.
