Birth control for first-graders?

In a case of appallingly bad judgment, a school district in Massachusetts has declared that even children who are only in the first grade are entitled to birth control provided by the district!

Worse still, youngsters in Provincetown, Mass., may be given birth control even if their parents have specifically objected.

“The board voted unanimously to approve the policy, which states that the school district will not honor requests from parents that their children not be given condoms,” Boston TV station WCVB reported.

The superintendent bizarrely said that even such young children need information on “how” and “when” to use birth control.

Actually, if a child that young is asking for birth control, an investigation should be launched to determine whether he or she has been the victim of a pedophile. Certainly no school should encourage sexual activity by such young children, or any children, by providing birth control — especially against their parents’ wishes.
