Mother’s Day celebrations, the timely return of the Armed Forces Day Parade and the opening of Lake Winnepesaukah are among events on the entertainment calendar this weekend.

Weather permitting, the home series continues Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Promotions include Thirsty Thursday drink specials, post-game fireworks on Friday and Used Car Night on Saturday. The military salute, featuring JROTC units, vehicles and service members from every military branch, as well as civic and volunteer organizations, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, proceeding north on Market Street from M.L. King Boulevard. Congressman Mark Green, who represents Tennessee’s 7th District, will be the keynote speaker at the post-parade luncheon, a ticketed event at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Green is a West Point graduate, physician, businessman and combat veteran whose most memorable mission involved the capture of Iraqi ruler Saddam Hussein.
