Mary Lynch and Linda White are the featured artists at In-Town Gallery during April.
Opening Thursday, “Inspired Details From Nature” illustrates how two artists working in different mediums interpret the natural world. They have dedicated their exhibit to the Chattanooga Nature Center and will donate a portion of their sales to it.
Ms. Lynch says she “grows” her pottery. Rather than starting with a preconceived shape, she allows the clay to develop a life of its own as she rolls, coils and throws it on the wheel. Her highly textured vessels have an earthy quality.
Ms. White’s collage of patterns into pictorial scenes often lead viewers to ask if her works are paintings. Her art quilts are about color and she uses only a standard sewing machine and some basic sewing and appliqué supplies to create images of the landscape.
“Inspired Details From Nature” will continue through April 30. A reception will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
In-Town Gallery, 26 Frazier Ave., is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Call 267-9214.
