SILVER LININGS

Last week we asked if you had any silver linings from the pandemic to share. But before we share what you sent, I want to be sure you know that today – yes today – Hamilton County is distributing a limited supply of rapid COVID-19 test kits as tests become harder to find. Kits are available at the river park at 4301 Amnicola Highway. The kits are available to Hamilton County residents by drive-through only and while supplies last.

Now on to what our readers had to say:

Reader Jim Lemons always wanted to learn how to do astrophotography. So, he purchased a used 11-inch Celestron telescope and started researching how to use the telescope to take his own astrophotographs.

“Because of the complexity of this hobby, my skills still have a long way to go to gain proficiency, but the challenge of learning it has been very rewarding,” he said.

Reader John Werner said he and his wife are living in central Florida but are planing to move to Chattanooga to be with their family of children, grandchildren and siblings. He said the pandemic has reminded him of the importance of patience.

“Patience they say is a virtue that many of us have forgotten but need to remember and to practice during these trying times. As a veteran, many people thank me for my service, but I want to thank you and the Corp of medical personnel who work tirelessly to help us all in this trying period,” he said.

And reader Laurel kept it short and sweet.

“We learned to take more time to focus on mental health and have seen many benefits within our family!” Laurel said.

Thanks for sharing with us!
