A woman is in custody after stabbing her brother in the chest with a pair of scissors early this morning, Chattanooga Police say.
Bronathon Carter, 25, told police that he and his sister, Tiara Ward, 29, were fighting over the fact that Carter’s female friend and her child were over to visit the apartment the siblings shared at 1706 Wilson Street. Ward told her brother to leave the apartment, but as he began packing she went to their neighbors to call police. The siblings got into a verbal argument in the front yard, where Ward pulled out a pair of scissors and stabbed her brother in the chest, said Chattanooga Police Public Information Officer Rebecca Royval.
Carter was taken to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS around 4 a.m. His condition is unknown, Royval said. Ward was taken into custody at the Hamilton County Jail where she was charged with Aggravated Assault-Domestic.
