The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the driver of a red pickup truck that fled after a crash with a county school bus on South Lee Highway, officials said.
The crash happened Tuesday just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of South Lee Highway and Boss Road, just south of APD-40, authorities said.
The “van-style bus” occupied by one special-needs student, an attendant and the driver, was struck in the rear and had a damaged rear bumper, authorities said. None of the bus occupants were injured.
“Witnesses described the truck’s damage as extensive but it was able to be driven away in the direction of McDonald (Tenn.),” a news release states.
Authorities believe the truck could be a Chevrolet but its exact model and year are unknown, according to the release.
Anyone with information about the crash or the red pickup truck should contact the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division at 423-728-7326 or the department’s crime tip hotline at 423-728-7336. Callers can leave an anonymous message, authorities said.
