A motorcyclist was dragged underneath a pickup truck after a crash with another vehicle Thursday afternoon, according to the Dalton Police Department.
Oscar Adams, 22, of Chatsworth, was traveling west on the Walnut Avenue Bridge near Abutment Road on a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle just before noon when he rear-ended a black Ford Explorer driven by Stephen Bingham, 33, also of Chatsworth.
Adams was thrown from his bike and both he and the bike crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic.
Rexie Patterson, 35, of Dalton, traveling east over the bridge in a Ford F-250 truck, was unable to stop before Adams slid underneath his truck and was dragged for a few feet.
Dalton Fire Department, Dalton Police Department and Hamilton EMS responded to the collision.
Adams was wearing his helmet and other protective gear at the time and was taken to Hamilton Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries.
Adams was cited for following too closely and not having proof of insurance.
