RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) – FIFA has picked Ravshan Irmatov of Uzbekistan to referee United States vs. Germany to decide who wins Group G of the World Cup.
Irmatov, a star referee at the 2010 World Cup, will have his third appointment in this tournament at Thursday’s match in Recife.
The 36-year-old official also handled Mexico’s 3-1 win over Croatia in a qualification decider on Monday.
Portugal vs. Ghana, the other Group G match in Brasilia, will be refereed by Nawaf Shukralla of Bahrain.
FIFA picked Benjamin Williams of Australia to referee Group H leader Belgium’s match against South Korea in Sao Paulo.
