Works by Hedi Lee-Hesse, such as “Twirling,” a 14-inch mosaic tray made of jasper, turquoise, glass and ceramic on metal, will be among those by several artists on view from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, as Area 61 Gallery, 61 E. Main St., celebrates its seventh anniversary.

Woodworkers/master craftsmen David Crewe and Rudd Montgomery opened Area 61 in 2009 as a showroom for their work but soon realized the space had potential for additional pieces.

The gallery now hosts hand-crafted, locally made artisan furniture, woodwork, fine art, jewelry, pottery, sculpture and other works by 30+ artists and crafters.

The anniversary reception coincides with the monthly First Friday Chattanooga in which participating galleries and artist studios extend their hours and host events.
