A free basic class in tai chi on Tuesdays at the Fitness Center at Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation offers the potential for building leg muscles, strengthening posture and improving balance, flexibility and mobility.
Called adaptive tai ji, the class will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. and provide such basic skills as breathing techniques, visualization and body posture.
Tai chi, according to experts, can be a beneficial form of exercise for anyone but especially for those with osteoarthritis.
A free membership in HealthLink Plus is required, but no additional registration is necessary for the class. For information, call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465).
