Letters to the Editor – 1

You can see through ad about meltdown

The U.S. Citizens Association’s full page ad in the July 27 Times Free Press showed that they have done a thorough study of propaganda methods used by governments like the old Soviet Union.

In this (ad) promulgated by the USCA, Democrats back to Jimmy Carter were responsible for the 2008 financial meltdown, not the Bush-Cheney administration or the Republican Party’s mantras: “deregulate, deregulate, deregulate” and “let the markets be free.”

In this world where you can always fool some of the people all of the time, the USCA will swing some credulous folk to believe (that), but those Americans possessing more critical faculties and who pay attention to the real world, will see (that) for what it is. Congress, in its stupidity, did deregulate the banks and let the markets be almost totally free. We’ve all paid a high price, especially those who are still unemployed.
