Five Chattanooga media outlets will present a concert Saturday to raise money for local disaster relief efforts by the American Red Cross.
Called “Coming Together After The Storm,” the concert will air live between 7 and 8 p.m. on WRCB-TV Channel 3 and radio stations US-101, 103.7 Kiss-FM, My 98.1 and Rock 105. The radio stations will have information on how to help beginning at 6 p.m.
Rising country artists Jacob Lyda and Mallary Hope will perform during the show, which will take place at the outdoor pavilion at the Tennessee Aquarium, 1 Broad St. No ticket is required for the free concert.
According to a news release, Lyda, now based in Nashville, is originally from Stevenson, Ala. His parents experienced extensive damage to their house in the tornado outbreak, and both of their vehicles were destroyed. A garage where Lyda and his father restore classic trucks was leveled, and the two trucks inside were destroyed.
Lyda, who still owns property in Stevenson, said the roof of his house was smashed by trees and all of the windows were blown out.
He will sing from his debut album, “I’m Doing Alright.”
Hope is from Dalton, Ga. She released her debut single, “Love Lives On,” in 2009, with an EP of the same name following. Her most recent single is “Blossom in the Dust.”
This is the second relief effort organized by Channel 3 and its radio partners. Two days after the storm, listeners and viewers filled four tractor trailers and donated $20,000 to Operation: Good Neighbor.
