It is shocking, frightening – and angering – that young lives in our community were endangered Tuesday by gunshots fired at children on their way home from school!
But just such horror occurred on Through Street near Tunnel Boulevard.
Six to 10 shots reportedly were fired. Fortunately, no youngsters were struck. But the possibilities are terrible to consider. Just think “what might have been.”
Police reported that schoolchildren had just exited a school bus when a red Ford pickup passed. Shots were fired. Young lives could so easily have been snuffed out.
The truck, from which the shots allegedly were fired, sped off, striking a car at the Willow and McCallie intersection. The driver of that car was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
