By no means did the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga play a great basketball game Thursday night – even for this early in the season.
But the Mocs played their most complete game of the season in an 81-69 Southern Conference home win over Appalachian State.
The UTC starters commanded the contest, such as Keegan Bell dishing out 13 assists, and the reserves played their roles, including post players Jahmal Burroughs and DeAntre Jefferson combining for 16 points and 12 rebounds.
“Jahmal defended and rebounded, Troy Cage came in and defended and those guys are very important,” coach John Shulman said. “Guys did their job.”
It fit the cliché definition of a team victory.
