Durham: Elements that make a perfect home

Q: What should I be looking for as the “perfect” home as a home buyer?

A: When homebuyers go out looking for a home they are usually looking for one thing — the perfect home. Although this is a relative term, and what is perfect for you may not be the same for others, there is a general consensus over what people need for their perfect home.

When Realtors hear that the buyers want to find the home that is just right for them, they know many things could be considered. Buyers may not know what the right home is all about and they can move from home to home and not find the perfect one.

One of the most important aspects of a choosing the right home to people is the price. You have to factor in everything. Some people may only look at the price of the home, but you also need to look at the price of utilities, taxes and repairs. Make sure that all of this matches your budget and you will be one step closer to the home you feel is just right for you and your family.

The size of the home is also a huge factor. If you have a family that is five people large, then you do not want a two-bedroom house. Alternatively, if it is only you or you and one other person, you are not going to need five bedrooms. You can easily get a house too big or too small, and it will certainly not be perfect if this happens.

The next aspect that should come into your home is the location of the house. If the ideal house is in a bad neighborhood or around places that you will not use a lot then it is not the ideal home. You need to pick a good place for yourself. It should be a place where you will feel comfortable and a place where you will use your surroundings. If you have children, schools will become a paramount item of consideration.

The ideal home for most people can be a lot of different things but it usually just comes from a feeling. Most people know their perfect house as soon as they walk in the door. If you can see yourself being happy in the home then it may be the just the house for you.
