Augusta State earned its first NCAA championship by defeating Oklahoma State 3-1-1 on Sunday afternoon at The Honors Course.
ASU junior Mitch Krywulycz clinched the victory with a 19th hole victory over Kevin Tway who missed a four-foot par putt on their play off hole.
Sophomore Patrick Reed and Henrick Norlander picked up convincing wins over Peter Uihlein and Morgan Hoffman for the Jaguars’ other two points.
“It is a dream come true,” ASU coach Josh Gregory said. It has validated the success of the coaches before me and players before them. I can promise you that there is no university or golf program that would appreciate a national championship as much as Augusta State.”
