When Chattanoogans Rachel Wanamaker and Chloe Kaufman tell people they make balsamic vinegar cocktail mixers, they are usually met with a confused look.

“They’re like, ‘You drink vinegar?'” Wanamaker says. “It breaks your brain a little bit.”

After purchasing Olive Chattanooga, a local olive oil and balsamic vinegar company, Wanamaker and Kaufman rebranded the company as Maven Table and introduced a line of cocktail mixers in addition to olive oils, balsamic vinegars and olive oil blends.

Once they saw the response they got from the balsamic vinegar cocktail mixers — a product no other business was offering — they decided about six months ago to drop the other products and focus solely on the mixers.

Each of the four flavors is designed to be paired with a particular liquor: Spicy Margarita with tequila, Sidecar with bourbon, Lavender Lemonade with gin and Bellini with vodka.
