A car crashed into the front of a North Chattanooga grocery store on Thursday night, police said.
The car, a white sedan, stopped after getting wedged between a pillar and propane tank cage outside the Publix on North Market Street.
The driver told police he was leaving the store when his foot got stuck, and he could not take it off the accelerator, Chattanooga Assistant Chief Jerri Sutton said in an email.
One other car was hit, police said.
The driver was given citations for several driving offenses, Sutton said, and was found at fault for the accident and damage to the other car.
The pillar was scraped, and the propane tank cage had minor paint damage, according to police. A Publix manager told police it’s unclear how much the damage will cost, if any, to repair.
